New tank update !!
still not a single water change
yellow tail wrasse finally out of the sand i feed him frozen he likes the frozen pods trying to make him eat pellets
i have added more fish (blue tang and a powder brown tang ) and corals esp sps everything is doing well no losses so far and tank inhabitants look happy
i got my icp and ndoc resualts
they are good no heavy metals
nutrients are good i might need to dose no3 and po4 or increase load
MO and V are high
all other trace elemnts are within parameters
been dosing 200 mil kh daily my tank is eating that up in a really high amount no clue why
iam keeping kh ca and mg stable
so far for filtration
1- skimmer
2- refugium
3-carbon
now for the bad news
i have 1200 silicon XD
the ugly tank phase has started i have diatoms every where and i have made a big expansion on y clean up crew to deal with it but its good since diatoms will take care of my high silicates and V i expect it to last for few weeks and die with no intervention on my part
thing is i wonder if i also have dinos all tank inhabitants look happy even the sps cuz if i do iam in for one ***** of a fight XD
i bought the new nyos g2 reactor to run the carbon there instead of a bag and ran gfo for a day then realised its a bad idea dont want to zero my po4

been wanting to buy live pods since i started with dead rock i have very very few pods in the chaito i got in the refugium but i think it will take them ages to reproduce but i cant find anything in my country and every place i spoke to in the USA told me they dont ship pods

I really like them they dont glare the living room
And the par spread is amazing they cover all of my tank with high par i have them 32 cm above water line and the minimum par i have is 200 and thats on the sand bed
The sps and my hammers love them they are wide open
I run them for 10 hours on 80% intensity 2 hours blue then 8 hours 80% whites
They look very clean and minimal shimmer not the disco ball my radions used to do

Quick update i noticed today diatoms seem to be disappearing today i thought they would take weeks but they have been growing for 3-4 days

what iam noticing now is the grean hair algae started to appear no hairs yet but the rock is turning green which is wierd i shouldnt be in that stage i thought its
1- diatoms
2- cyano
3-hair algea
But i didnt get any cyano

iam leaving the tank be tbh just doesing missing trace elemnts like triton said boron and i
And the kh ca mg
I think its best to let the tank just mature but its happening fast green hair algea in 2 weeks and a half

My recent 250 rebuild went through the same phases. Some daitoms, no cyano, no GHA, green rocks, then GHA, then some cyano on my gyres.

Everything was removed. New sand and rocks, DT and sump was sterilized. Only thing I reuse was the bio media.

Why did u remove everything ? Isnt this part of the process after some time all of it go away

I had mushrooms and GSP overtake my tank. Mainly due to neglect that promoted the overgrowth.

diatoms are gone the snail army has prevailed !!
dinos are dwindling alot
And my rocks are turning green
All of the corals are doing well some of my acros are starting to grow
And they are coloring up
Ii got a new collection of sps few days ago
Iam feeding 6 times a day heavily to bring nitrates up from zero with no success i need to add more fish i think
Iam also gonna start dosing core 7 since my kh ca and mg dosing cant keep up which means trace elements are being consumed now
Water is a bit dirty and smells i need to replace my carbon its been used for 23 days i think

I think the ugly phase is gone the algea in the display tank has been dealt with using clean up crew
The bacterial bloom is finally gone
Still not a single water change from filling the tank and I started dosing with core7
No coral losses they are doing very well actually
I had some fish loss due to aggression like of my sea Goldie's died cuz they kept bullying her

2 are enough for sure very good par through out and no hot spots lowest par I have on the sand bed that is not shaded by rock is 200

Water is crystal clear rocks are turning lime green iam suspecting it's Coraline
Corals are happy and fish are doing well except for the powder brown and the white cheek
I have isolated the white cheek I think I made a big mistake thinking I can get these tangs to be friends Iam rehoming the white cheek other than that everything is going smoothly to my surprise still knock on wood
Iam sending ICP and ndoc to triton tomorrow to see what's going on in the tank cuz my core7 dosing consumption went from 30 ml to 5 ml now which is wired
Iam gonna be removing the wild sps colonies from their cement blocks with a saw today and glue them on the rocks
And now I will leave pics !! I still don't know how to send you guys vids of tank

I haven't given an update for so long it's going great tank still running corals thriving I switched my method from triton to modern reef cuz it gave me much better coral colours also did alot of equipment additions UVs , flow meters , hard plummed the tank iam waiting for two blue plus orphek lights which should be fun

I recently started adding alot of LPs and softies to the tank
