I’m buying one! Giddy-up!

I've had my Red Sea Nano Max G2 for coming up on two years and it has been awesome, coming from Innovative Marine. My Red Sea ATO and Doser have been great since then too, no issues. I've been running the NanoMat since then too, which has worked great, but I recently switched back to socks to capture more spirorbid worms. Red Sea is the best in the AIO scene.

That's fair - i have always avoided their ATO just based off the bad reports of them.

Its funny actually as i'm regularly at my LFS, and they do push them a bit, i generally mention to people afterwards - to 'maybe google the ATO first before you purchase'!

Like anything new, only time will tell as to how accurate or good this is.

I've never had any problems; if anything, it's been more accurate than the Tunze I had before. If the pump runs dry, you're supposed to 'reset pump monitors' in the app after putting it back into the water. I don't believe a lot of people know this.

I can say they definitely nailed it with with that power strip design and its dedicated control module.

Jury is out on quality/reliability.

Red Sea is fantastic at design and marketing. They make it look like they know what they’re doing but cut corners at every possible spot they can to boost margins. See their tanks, skimmers, pumps, lights, etc as examples.

Already having reliability issues in the test phase or waiting for enough stock of replacement parts to cover the warranty claims in the first several weeks of introduction to the market? Hmmmm.

Not meant to argue, but as I look into parts does seem RS doser isnt as bad. Or maybe just havent found people mentioning failures

The doser might be the one decent thing red sea makes. I like mine well enough, but the ATO is absolute garbage. Red Sea claims they fixed the sensors that fall apart after 2 months but the fact that they replaced my sensor 6 times last year tells me they didn’t

To be honest why are people even buying their product. I don't think it would do justice to the owners who had their homes destroyed.

It could be the case, yes. But if you look at the hardware landscape they are all starting to go that direction anyway. Look at Tunze.

All I'm saying is I'd rather have 6 companies fighting for its market share than 2 - competition is good all around. I dont see anybody opening their system to one another and this certainly doesnt depend on # of players in the market.

We don't know how reliable their controllers will be....but I love the design aesthetics so far and some new things that I have not seen with any previous controller.

I mean the power strip is technically its own controller already and that small panel with physical buttons on it is a game changer.

I dont see anybody opening their system to one another and this certainly doesnt depend on # of players in the market.

Neptune does. They have the IOTA option. Both Kessil and Sicce use it. Very well I may add.

Hydros does it to some degree, well, my limited experience. The Wave Engine with some powerheads.

We don't know how reliable their controllers will be....but I love the design aesthetics so far and some new things that I have not seen with any previous controller.

I will defer out of this one as aesthetics and game changing dodads is a personal option. I'm not saying you are wrong - just that I have no opinion.

IME. The dosers and reef waves are the best I have owned and sadly that includes most of the major vendors. I can go 6 months without any maintenance on the waves and the dosers have been very reliable. My issue is that we call these "controllers " in the first place.
