Consolidating space. Might do ozone. Would need room for generator, vacuum pump, and air drier.

Well I plan dose a lot of additives. The additives containers have to be outside the cabinet and I need a way to disconnect the containers from the dosing tube holders without liquids running out. So I slip in some ball valves. Ball valves are labeled with numbers. 10 in all.

Came across a video by a guy called the Honest Carpenter. He strengthens wood by glueing a piece of angle iron to it. I didn’t want to bore you with the entire video so I took three screenshots from it. I’m thinking of doing this to my stand along the front top inside edge. However I will have to move my overhead cabinet leds a little.

That snow on the roof! We don't see that here in So Cal!! Congrats on the new home!
@Perfectly_Imperfekt1 Ha! winter has just begun. Wait a few weeks. We are 60 miles from Canada. This picture was taken after we shoveled the snow off the roof our health food store. We needed the ladder to get on the roof but after the snow berm was piled up we just jumped off. The ladder was buried until spring.

Went to the next nearest town today. 90 miles away. They actually have a Petco. Noticed two things I never did before. They actually have live copepods in bottles and live mangrove propagules in tubes. Much better to get them semi-local instead of overnight from across the country.

Noticed in the top pic of this quote with the bottle of copepods, the spouts are left open. I suppose that’s to give the buggers oxygen. I wonder how many people have bought them, walked out of the store, set them down on the car seat with the bottle lying down in the bag, and then the water leaks out because they didn’t know the spout was open?

Did quite a bit of research on dosing ozone usage in hobby reef tanks, mostly the extra equipment I would have to get. It would be quite expensive. So now I’m thinking I don’t want to spend the money plus I’d like to get a parrot again and ozone is detrimental to birds health.

Pulled out the divider don’t need the vertical mounting space. Probably replace with shelves. And removed one of the T5 dimmable ballasts. Now just one ballast with two T5 bulbs. Greatly simplifies hanging the T5 reflectors to the sides of the Radion RMS rail.

Enough to keep you busy for a lifetime, nice work!
@DrJoos haha since I had so much time until my move, I redid a lot of things trying to perfect it all. Now I’m doing some things to simplify.

I would like to move the Reefer stand with this flatbed trailer which is low to the ground but blanketed with snow right now. Occasionally we get a midwinter thaw but usually the snow and ice stays on the ground the whole winter up until the end of February or the beginning of March. Thought about putting a trap down on the bed of a pickup to cover the ice and haul it that way. But the thing is so awkward since you would have to pick it up by the bottom making it totally top heavy. Hence using the flatbed trailer. There is another option: a friend of mine has a pickup truck with a raisable liftgate. However he doesn’t keep the pickup box clean. He hauls firewood, greasy carparts, dirty tires, and the like in it. I would have to clean it up considerably and put a tarp down. Then strap it in with ratchet straps.

Thinking maybe I do need a UV sterilizer. The short ones. Aqua Ultraviolet brand. They’re quite a bit shorter and I can fit it on the underside of the cabinet just behind the lip in the picture. @SuncrestReef does it this way although I think his stand is a little longer. The Pentair was half again as long as this. I fiddled with two dozen different ways of mounting the Pentair but didn’t like any of the configurations. I plan on laying this stand down on its back to do the mounting and also to nail in the little clete feet that were knocked off the bottom of the stand.

Took a screenshot of a video and got this pic. Video was of guys in a bait shop on an ocean pier selling these mantis shrimp as “sea lice” for fishing bait. To avoid thumb splitting you net one of these, toss it out on the bottom of the boat, and step on it before baiting your hook with it. Those things are 6” long, a 5 gallon bucket full. Could you imagine an angry spouse dumping that bucket into your tank? Gives me nightmares.
