Just noticed this ad. Dr. Reefs was a closely guarded secret until this. He sells quarantined and quarantined-conditioned fish. I will get all my fish from him that aren't captive-bred. As pre-conditioned, eating and quarantined. Copy-pasted ad from R2R

Won’t be able to get my T5/Radion hybrid lighting going right away. Won’t need it until I have coral. Going to run Fish Only at first until other things setup. Got this idea from @coley650 . She ran a couple aluminum strips perpendicular to the Radion Mounting System then attaches T5 reflectors to that. coley650 is in the UK and I couldn’t find the anodized aluminum strips anywhere but there. Luckily I have a cousin there who shipped me 3 strips from UK Amazon. The strips have to be bent to accommodate the height of the RMS rail going over the top of it then down on either side of the RMS to bring the T5s near the water’s surface. First pic: shows bends in aluminum strip. Second showing T5s along side Radions. Third pic has the aluminum strip outlined in yellow and Radions circled in red. You can compare pics two and three to get a perspective. Pics two and three are the same, three just has markup.

Then the bolts stick up on the top of the reflectors so I’ll put these domed cover nuts on the ends.

I started an interesting thread on the aquascape forum. Wondering if I soak my rock first will it be less apt to break when drilling? The thing I really got out of it was one guy used a drill press instead of a hand-held drill. I've got one of these presses gathering dust. I'll give it a go. This should work better.

Wow this is cool!! Auto Frozen Food Feeder. Wonder how big the unit is. Will it fit in my cabinet? Can sit up to six feet away. Makes me want one for a harem of Anthias.

Drilled two holes on either side of each IKEA Cabinet top pic. I’ll run cords through them like Apex display unit and Adaptive Reef green/red status indicator lights like on the bottom pic. But main reason for the holes is to run 30” steel pipes through them to have a place to lift the stand and carry it by the ends of the pipes sticking out like handles. The two ends cabinets make it so difficult to get ahold of the stand and carry it.

Found this photo on the BRStv recap group of Facebook. This person has their Avast Marine Works “The Plank” feeder in their cabinet dropping food into the return pump chamber of their sump. This person took off the barrel section of the feeder that’s designed to rehydrate the freeze-dried food stored in the drum section. He/she is also using some pellets that I believe are not freeze dried. The auto-feeder setup like this is something I’m going to look into. The Plank feeder is outlined in yellow below.

I tried this with an auto feeder with pellets. It didn't work out as well as I hoped. Too much food wasn't picked up and I had to clean the return section more often than I would have liked.

@Fudsey oh. Well this should be different with the Plank feeder. Are you familiar? FREEZE-DRIED food drops into the vertical barrel where swirled around with mixing pump until fully hydrated, then fully hydrated food becomes neutrally bouyant and only then passes out a hole through the bottom of the vertical barrel. When I have the Plank in the return chamber food will be pumped into tank where it will neither settle down at the bottom or go over the overflow since neutrally bouyant.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
