@merereef do you have a top lid for the display tank? Is there a company in the UK that makes them?
Yes i do go through my earlier posts you will see it. Its just a basic one. There is a company in the uk that does custom acrylic tops the company is called reef tops. You can find them on facebook.

So ive decided to go barebottom for a while... dinos kept going in the sand so i have removed it.. i have deicded to increase the sump turnover to 10 x an hour rather than 5 and blow the dinos off the rocks so the over flow can suck up more of the dinos and in return uv can kill it...

@merereef could you post a fish list and/or coral list? And how effectively is your UV working do you feel?

Uv is great highly recommend it ihad marine velvet where my fish randomly started dying.. ran the uv and every other fish survived.. it got rid of dinos but my nutrients remained too low and another strain of dinos came that uv could notget rid of... 5 month battle but finally got rid of dinos.

so stock list

fish
Clown fish pair
Yellow tang
Algae blenny
Chromis
Regal damsel
6 line wrasse
Tri colour bubble tip anemone

corals

xenia pulse
Chalice dont know which kind
Green birds nest
Green Pocillopora
ORA BIRDS OF PARADISE
PINK HYSTERIX
duncan
Trumpet
Green torch
Orange lobo
Kenya tree
Red and green zoas
Red mushroom
Green hammer

algea crew

I have blue urchin
Astrea snails and yellow tang and algea blenny... my nutrients can shoot up or down i dont get algea because the astrea and urchin just take care of it.

thats it... i dont want to stock tank heavy fullof corals... i want them to have plenty of room to grow

@merereef sounds like the UV got you out of a bind. Do you know if they're effective against flat worms? The SPS eating kind?

ahh no mate there not.. i hear flatworms sre the worst thing... best thing to do is dip the coral... quarantine it to monitor... dip again and thequarantine

I wasnt liking the caribsea fiji pink live sand... the uneven grain size and bits of shell everywhere.. so i decided to remove it... i actually found a piece of metal about the size of a nassarius snail shell.. any way changed out the sand for dry TMC fine grade sand
