Its been a while i have updated this thread. Have been so busy and sometimes things take you in a different direction. Nonetheless the tank has been maturing well...I have been dosing 2 part Bionic using Neptune DOS but i found my Alkalinity bouncing up and down not too big of a difference however i wanted to keep it as stable as possible. I thought about adding a Calcium Reactor but the upfront cost goes into almost $2k for a good one. Since most of my sps are small frags or mini colonies i decided to switch to Aquaforest 3 part balling method. I have heard great results about this balling method and so ended up ordering another DOS. In the meanwhile i was trying to regulate my water changes as well again with the goal of keeping the tank parameters as stable as possible. Picked up another DOS and installed it in the basement where my water change station is located. Water changes are now automated. The DOS is programmed to replace 5400 ml of water every night between midnite and 6am. This comes to approximately 1.42 Gallons per night which eventually comes down to 10 Gallons approximated per week which is the 10% of my system volume over all (100 Gallons). I am loving the auto water changes. No more shocks to the system. Thats a lot to read...lol...for those of you who love pictures here are some of the pictures of sps i took last night...enjoy...
It was a great past weekend. Up here north side of the border we don’t get much shows pertaining to this hobby and when I got invited to join the Greater Niagara Coral Show as a Guest Speaker it was like a dream come true. The show was in its 2nd year and was a very successful event. I got to meet so many of my YouTube friends along with fellow hobbyists across the country who flew and drove to Niagara Falls, Ontario in Canada. Here are some pics from the show...
So this past weekend I added a group of 10 female lyretail anthias. I just say they do provide a lot of movement in the tank and looks so beautiful...here are some of the pictures I just took of the tank...
