Red slime

I recently stopped dosing nopox
Brought my nitrates from over 100 down to 20ppm .
I ended up dosing 3ml for 100gal system which seamed minimal compared to the 12ml starting dose .

I stopped dosing 3 weeks ago and just noticed yesterday I have red slime cyano starting .
Could this be from stopping carbon dosing ?

Yes, the bacteria were out competing the cyano. Now that they are dying off ......
