Updated my stirrrrerrer design a bit and got some more parts printed up. Also stress tested the motor in the housing to make sure it doesn't overheat. It got warm but not overly hot. One step closer!

Very impressive. Are the two white pieces with brims PP?

They are. Vertical with fat brims is how i found that it prints best. Neither of those warped at all. All the parts that will be in contact with kalk are printed in PP. The cylinder bulkhead adaptor, stir bar, and shaft coupler are all PP. The rest is PETG.

That looks really good! I would love to see it installed once you get it online.

What did you end up using to keep the print on the plate, magigo PP, or something else?

Looking good, Zack, but black and white? C'mon man, where is your artistic and colorful side? Oh, wait, maybe you used it all up growing your beard.

Magigoo pp is where i settled. On the bare glass bulid plate side it works fantastic, ive getten 6 or 7 prints out of a single application (probably could do more, but i swapped to petg and had to clean it off)

Ha! You know it!

Also i am super lame with petg, all i ever get is white and black. Maybe next time i will go wild and get some clear or translucent blue.

Ok, while you are all here, you creative lot, i want to shoot something totally different across the bow.

I am getting ready to apply for a general contractors license with an hvac endorsement (mostly so i can buy equipment and help people out when they ask, maybe 1 or 2 systems a year) and need a buisness name. I was thinking:
Red Cloud Contacting & HVAC or Inside Out Contracting & HVAC. What are your thoughts? Good name? Or any better suggestions?

Both are good. But I really like Red Cloud. I don’t think you need to go any further. At least I don’t have a better suggestion.

BTW - Pretty cool that you’re doing this.

I think that is how i am leaning too. I know it isn't a huge deal, especially since i wont be advertising or anything, but i figured why not create something i can have fun with.

Thanks dude :) I used to have an in and could get equipment, probably still could but i dont want to be a nuisance. People keep asking if i would install for them and i hate saying no, figured might as well get papered and be legit.

Very cool you'll be doing this and I wish you luck. You never know, things could take off, unexpectedly, and then POW! No more working for the man. You become the man!

Let me noodle on any possible business names.

For real though, it might. Also my hedge against that AI stuff coming for my job ;)

I like Red Cloud and I'm terrible at catchy names so I'll leave the noodling to creative types like Chris.

Not to be a wet blanket on the name but do Red Cloud and HVAC go together well? I don’t want a red cloud of anything coming out of my heating and air conditioning unit. I like the name Red Cloud in general, but it may not be the right thing in this particular scenario. My 2c.

red cloud is a local landmark lol, but i had not considered that aspect. I certainly wouldnt want the name to put people off, should it ever go so far as to try and get customers.

I did not realize the local landmark aspect. I’m in sales so I’ve done a little bit of marketing for work and that’s what popped into my head when I read the name combined with the type of business. It won’t matter what you call it if it’s never advertised but if there’s any possibility of expanding and growing the business it might not work well unless the local landmark aspect outweighs the visual.
