Dream build - love your thread and progress!
Thank you!Bdouglas, you are a model of patience brother. you will help many reefers who are looking to get their own S-1000 dream tank in the future (including me). I've learned a lot from your build and keep posting your progress. This thread has been an awesome one to follow
I used a router to flush trim and round over all the edges of the canopy. Then sprayed the paint finish on to get the smoothest finish.fantastic build!
I love the canopy. what did you use on the corners to get the polished look?
I am really thinking about joining the S1000 club.
having a fish closet behind the tank would be sweet. crazy how much stuff we accumulate running reef tanks.
bummer about the new rate valve. I was hoping not to replace it. I did in on the 750 & 650P.

I wish I had a full fish room but I settle for s
Closet haha
Thank you!well your wood working skills paid off that canopy is top notch! if I end up getting the S 1000 I might atemp the same.
I dont have a picture but the back is just thin ABS plastic panels, with screw/screw caps. Also the tank comes shipped with the back glass black so I would not suggest using it in a peninsula set upanother question for you and it's an odd one.
BUT do you have a pic of the back of the stand by chance?
wondering how this would look as a peninsula. I know the overflow is around 10" so it would take up alot of space. IDK just playing around with ideas.
yeah I figured it was not the best idea. I just have to replace the 650P and was just thinking...I dont have a picture but the back is just thin ABS plastic panels, with screw/screw caps. Also the tank comes shipped with the back glass black so I would not suggest using it in a peninsula set up
So far its going very well, no major updates but corals are continuing to grow in. Just picked up a Melanurus Wrasse from Marine Collectors. No other recent additionsyeah I figured it was not the best idea. I just have to replace the 650P and was just thinking...
how's the tank going?
one of my fav. I love wrassesSo far its going very well, no major updates but corals are continuing to grow in. Just picked up a Melanurus Wrasse from Marine Collectors. No other recent additions
@Marine Collectors list the sizes of all the fish you can order. This was my first order with them and I’m super happy with the health and size of the fishYour wrasse is a good size.
You just need to adjust the water level in the weir. Close it to raise the water and open it lowe the water. When the water is about one inch below the main return valve, it's silent for me.@bdouglas119 I finally got my reefer-s 1000 setup and am currently trying to dial in the return pumps. I am running (2) 1900gph current USA pumps. Dual pump. The overflow is insanely loud and the gate valve is loud as well with a lot of air bubbles. Any recommendations? Is 3800gph far too much? I can turn each down to about 1200gph and them still be pushing water, any less and doesnt seem to work.
