Is there a battery backup system for the reefwave pumps?

No, not off the shelf! You'll have to look into DIY- and when you find a good way to go, please share it with the rest of us! :star-struck:

... some say that the Icecap battery backup may work as the Red Sea pumps are basically kitted out Maxspect ones, but I can neither confirm nor deny this one.

I bought the icecap v3 before knowing the voltage so I'm dead in water on that. I found another 24v battery option I may try

Let us know how you get on! :-) I have 2 x ReefWave 45 and a couple of MP40's.. The MP40's are on battery backups thought..

Same on my display. I have 2 mp40 and 2 reefwave 45. The mp40 on backup. If I find a good way to do battery backup I would get rid of the mp40's
