Wings in 6.....They will do the same thing they did last year and win the cup. The Wings are top deep in talent for the Pens....Will be a great series none the less.

The Pens have alot of trouble keeping the puck out of their own net. ALOT of trouble. They have 7 players in their lineup that are on the minus side of +/-. Babcock will expoilt those players over and over with the last change on home ice and the highest scoring team in the NHL. Our D will contain Crosby/and Malkin and they really don't have any other serious threats. Ozzy is playing very well and Lidstom and Datsyuk both skated yesterday and are likely to return. Hossa has been playing real well the last couple of games. Wings in 6 at most.

"This time of year is fun for us". We will be ready"

Wings for me. From my home state and they were impressive against the Blackhawks.

I am going to go out on a limb and say the wings in 3, with the Pens not scoring in any of the games and the Wings exposing Fluery for the revolving door he is.

Kronwall will knock out all of the Pens by the end of game 3 and they will forfeit game 4.

It is crazy to think that Crosby and Malkin and the Pens other young players have improved at all over the past year and can compete with the Wings players who are one year older and one year better than they were last year. It will be easy for the Wings to stop Malkin and Crosby and we know that no other Pen can score a goal.

The only experience that people from Pittsburgh have playing hockey is from EA Sports NHL series on playstation.....

:snicker:

Rumor has it that Lidstrom has epididymitis or prostatitis. You know at that age, those things happen...:hammer:

He might need to take the little blue pill to "get up" for the game.

I have been thinking about the series and I am going to agree with Ray and say that the Wings are probably better faster and stronger than last year and the Pens should probably just phone it in. If I were the Pens, I wouldn't even show up to save themselves the embarrassment. The only teams that could give the Wings a run for their money are the Ducks and Hawks and they beat them so all hope is lost for the Pens. Hell the Hawks and Ducks are so superior to the Pens that they should just make it a rule from now going forward that only teams out of the Western Conference can compete for the cup.

Wow, Pens fans sure are testy. Simply point out the facts about their team and they get all teary-eyed and whiny. I think it must start with the captain of their team. After all he was voted by the players of the NHL as the most whiney player. I wonder how long it will take this year before he and the Pens will start whining in the media about the refs. Last year it was after only 2 games but now they are so much better and more experienced it will probably take 3.

I want Malkin to get some credit more deserved than someone who gets too much. Still if I put money on the game it would have to be a smarter bet on Detroit. Anybody but Detroit would be fine with me. Just because they have won too much lately.

Malkin is a great player but Gary Bettman decided to put all his eggs in the Crosby basket or "bassinet" which is more accurate. It's working out so well that ESPN is now carrying soccer instead of hockey.:too_sad:

funny coming from the person whining the most about the refs in the playoffs.

The officiating has been terrible. I wouldn't say to the benefit or detriment of any particular team though. I am sure the NHL players know who the biggest whiner is.

Pens in six.

The Wings looked tired in that last game against the Hawks. Very little recuperation time, and not much of a break between games gives the Penguins an edge.

Crosby's playoff scoring this year is up .29 points per game. Malkin's scoring is up .74 points per game. Thats a whopping 1.03 points per game improvement. However they subtracted Hossa who put up 1.3 points per game in the playoffs last year. Thats a .27 points per game loss. Hossa has had a slow playoffs this year and has only put up .75 points per game so far. Thats a 1.02 points per game loss. Of course they added Guerin but as PSU points out he is just an old man. Then added Kunitz and he is a bust with 1 playoff goal. Sure some of their younger players have gotten better but so have the younger players on the Wings. Last year the young juggernaut Pens were gonna beat the old Wings. How'd that work out for you?

You kill me. Let me know when you start teaching Hockey 102 and I'll sign up. Can never have a simple little busting chops thread. The sarcastic humor was meant to put some humor back in the thread after you sucked the jovial mood out of it with your pontificating and copy/pasting of stats. I realize you feel you need to teach everyone something but relax. I'm sure if anyone wanted a real analysis of the series they would go to ESPN, The Sporting News, or Hockey News. Who all by the way, call the series a toss up. Although, I'm sure you could prove them wrong.

Oh that was humor........ Funny. I was simply busting your chops with a little logic and reason. Sorry I didn't mean to offend your delicate sensibilities. Testy these Pens fans....Testy.
