Not sure any were done with a properly calibrated meter but hey.. it gets the idea across..
This appears to be energy related (mW/meter sq) not photon counts.. which is what matters.
Does point to 400nm diodes which are approx.(distribution around peak isn't always symmetric) like 1/2 UV/ 1/2 not by definition.

That is not an accurate graph for the Meridian. It was downloaded from a chat and was preproduction before diode choices were finalized. It ended up being “leaked” and distributed but does not reflect the meridians true spectrum. How close or far it is from accurate is speculation. RB has not released a spectrum graph, and to my knowledge one hasn’t been measured privately.

I do have a dedicated uva/b meter that measures 280-400nm.

According to #71 post those are the updated spectrums as of 6/21/24..
Now relying on Chinese not to switch things on the fly can be a gamble...They don't always stick to the program.

The charts are meant to be visual but not scientific. I’ve discussed this with reefbreeders. You’ll see they only have values for the X axis and not the Y.

This is to show you an overall balance or representation for how the spectrum can be, but not quantifiable data that can be compared between other charts.

Some of data is there, the scale and measurements are not.

You can’t simply overlay it with another spectral graph. Even if you stretch/reduce horizontally, you have no idea how much to do the same for vertically.
 
All I know is that by my anecdotal evidence, these meridians are amazing and increasing growth on most things in my tank. I’ve had coral for 3+ years that have hardly grown and now after a 2-3 months with meridians, I’m seeing major size growth.

Previous to these I had photons and still love them. But these are definitely a step up. Nothing else in the system has changed to my knowledge other than the lights.

Don't see any reason not to consider them "relative" i.e highest peak is 100% rest will follow. Graph needs to be "internally" consistent. No different scale for each nm..

2 graphs that are the same relatively speaking (0-100 scale) can be quite different "par wise" but its color rendition should be equal.

Problem is "assuming" too much from a relative curve. Say you dim or shut off the predominant channel the new relative spectrum will look like you mega increased the remaining nm's.

I didn't increase red and cyan..but if I over-layed the 2 and said that the one is def. more reddish green well that would be the likely look. There is not more cyan or red in the second one.


So yes technically not scientific and mainly good for comparing looks but it has other functions.
If the chart shows peak as 120 then one could "shrink" it by diving each nm by 1.20 to keep consistency and overlay. Shrinking in this case not stretching.

The reason spectra are usually expressed as a percent (%) of the highest peak value is to easily compare two or more spectra.

2 Meridians. I run 2 photon 50's over my 60×30×21.

2 of the Meridian 45 would definitely be the best way to do it if you want maximum coverage.

You could get away with a 45 bundle that has 2 edge bars too but that setup is designed for tanks that are 30” front to back so it will be better if you want to keep algae off the glass.
 
What size is your tank I’d be happy to recommend what I think will work best. Please list the full dimensions and if there is any center bracing and if you plan to keep SPS.
I have a 60”x24x24 that is a mixed reef with sps up top. What would be the ideal setup to cover my tank?

If you go with 2 of the 24’s that would most likely give you the best end to the coverage since you can position each of them to cover 30” pretty perfectly.

What would I need for mounting these on my 60” tank? Would one of the 45’s be ok with the mounting legs? This is cheaper if I’m adding the bars and everything I can save a little going with the 45.

In my opinion the cheapest and best mounting solution is the wire hangers since you can dial in exactly how high you mount the light.

I need to mount off my tank but was wondering if I buy 2 of the 24’s how do they attach In the middle ?

But if saving money is a priority for you then the 45 might be the better option since it’s more affordable than 2 of the 24’s and you won’t need ICS rails to connect them.

Last question and I appreciate this. Is the legs with the 45 going to work on the 60” tank
