The other issue is the moonlight, it is way way too bright even at the minimum setting. Liam said they are aware of it and again "working on it". Timeliness unknown. Maybe we should all push a little.

I agree the Moonlight is very bright. Also I would like to see the option to use any channel/color for the moonlight.

I feel the default channel 5 cool blue is a little bright for moonlight even at low percentages. Channel 1 Indigo and channel 6 indigo and violet would be my choices if i could choose.

I remember I used to have some lights that had super dim whites as moon lights. Those were super cool.

I never even thought about just doing a 24 hour period at 1% that is a great idea for the time being. I will try that out tonight thank you.

What I like about the moonlight tab is that you can dim it even lower to like a percent of one percent.

I’ll look into it, but it likely won’t happen soon since working with app developers is very expensive even for seemingly small things.

We chose cool blue for moonlight because it has minimal impact on photosynthesis at night. If you select other colors based on personal preference, they may not replicate true moonlight and could potentially stimulate photosynthesis, which is generally not recommended

In the new update the moonlight can go as low as 0.1%. That’s still too bright for you??

Yes I tried the 0.1% on the cool blue and it's pretty bright. I believe part of the reason is not only the color but with cool blue there are 4 leds on per led cluster

With indigo there are only two LEDs on per cluster so it makes it a bit dimmer at 1% versus cool blue at 0.1

That’s not a bad idea I’ll probably just build custom LED boards and offer them direct on our site where we swap those two channels around so it will be four indigo and two cool blue and then maybe we’ll even end up adopting that as our default spectrum eventually but for now that’s the best I can do. It’s not easy to make changes like that on the fly.

Go ahead and DM me and I’ll give you some boards for free for coming up with a cool idea when I have them.

Imagine narrowing your interests down with another human being, to a hobby as specific as reefing, and then polarizing it they way you are trying to here.

Your style of reefing may not be for everyone, but the colors you have there, will light up anyone's eye.

Running the battle corals program.. I haven’t done par readings yet, I'm gonna try and play with that today.. they’ve only been on my tank for like 16 hours of right now! I was to hung over to play with them yesterday and didn’t even plan on getting them mounted but I did haha!

Yes it is! It’s called “bc main” I would def turn down the intensity cause Adam is a mad man! I was cooking corals haha! I’m running it at 65% I think he’s at 90% cause he acclimated all his corals over time.

Do you just go to each color channel and then each segment and turn down the intensity on each one individually? It looks like some of them are at 100%, where white is at 10%, 90%, 90%, 10%

Correct..: mine start at 10% and peak at 65 and go back down to 10

What height is everyone running there lights at above the water? Im going to work on getting my hands on a PAR meter and can play with the intensity from there. I have a meridian 45 over a 48"x 25"x22" tank (actual water height is about 19")

Any recommendations on a base line intensity to start with?

Mine are 12” above the water.. depending what lights you switched from I’d start around 50-60

Anyone else having issues getting the app to control the light? I have the Edge 63 UV spectrum. The light itself is very well built and puts out great light to enhance fluorescence. The app looks well designed but doesn’t control my light. I’ve been back and forth with Logan on it (who has been super responsive and deserves high marks for post-sale service). I can get the app to recognize the light and it seems to connect but, no matter how many times I do soft and hard resets, the light won’t respond to the app.

For my use, which is just as a fill light for the back of the tank, the app is not critical so I just have it running in sunrise-sunset mode. I think I’ll just keep it that way and periodically try new app releases but if anyone has encountered a similar issue and found a way to solve it, please share what you did.
