Thanks for your time!

I'm about to purchase reef breeders photon v2.

Is there something better at this price point that I should be looking at?

Tank: 90 gallon 36l x 24w x 24d

Keeping LPS and softies currently - would like to keep sps some day.

I run the v2+ on my shrooms around 125 par max using brs reccomended settings.. But are capable of serious intensity output.
The Viparspectra lights are less expensive but just as much intensity and output that I may try next.
Good thing about the v2+ is you can daisy chain them together. But if your only running one tank its neither here or there.

I really like my v2+. It's a pain to program when you first set it up but once it's up and running it looks great. I have an ai prime 16hd on my other tank and I like the reefbreeders colors better.

Good call on the vipraspectra. They seem to be solid lights and very affordable. Fwiw I have never used that brand but I have used other black boxes (sb reef, mars aqua, reefbreeders v1) and I find the v2+ colors are on another level.

Very good light but consider 2-3 orphek OR3-120 for fantastic PAR and the same or less money

It was my light choice for my 3ft tank. I did decide to go hybrid straight off bat. It’s a cracker light with its controller and built in ramping, brs videos and decent following for good price. As brs recommended the 35% for lps and sps 100. Plenty of scope 410E4853-2B6D-42E7-BC44-DE4E6EBE7909.jpeg
