What is the concentration of Molybdenum in the Moonshiner's Molybdenum Element? I usually use Aqua Forest and dose 2mL per week. I purchased this one, but cannot find a concentration to calc what I should be dosing.

They don’t publish the concentration anywhere obvious and just expect you to follow their dosing calculator. I just did the reverse calculation based on their recommendation to dose 0.01 mL for a 1 ug increase in 1 L tank volume. Looks like the solution is 100 ppm.

This url no longer works.

Was this the concentrations of all of their products?

Its a tool for dosing but you could find some recipes
Look were it say assessment tool and download the excel file there tabs in the bottom for different ICP test and dosing, fill the blanks and you should get amounts needed for all the elements

Theres also recipes here as well maybe not as potent as Reef Moonshiners but the should work

Thanks so much.

I sourced all the elements online. I did purchase like 5 of the daily's that I would use very little of from the Moonshiner website.

The correction elements that I purchased for DIY I have figured out the dose. It's the dailys I'm trying to figure out.

I will check out what you provided and use your advice to try to figure out the dailys to the moonshiner strength. Thanks again

Why is it necessary to match potency to commercial products? Is it because you do not know how much you want to dose?

Thanks for the reply Randy

With the corrective elements the calculator gives me a set value to shoot for over a certain numbers of days to dose.

For example, for potassium my level was 378mg/l. Moonshiner's system recommends a level of 410mg/l. Using the diy calculator for potassium that you provided I know how much I need to add to the tank in those three days.

For "the dailys" you are supposed to dose daily elements with a target goal in mind. Since this is not a set cycle of dosing I feel I would be dosing "blind" and will only know the actual daily dose needed once the next ICP test comes back.

For example, for Chromium I was at 0.09ug/l. Reef Moonshiner's recommends a target dose of 0.35-0.55ug/l.

Using the diy formula for Chromium I could dose up to those levels no problem. If I need to get there by dosing daily I want to make sure I'm inline with the moonshiner element in order to not overdose.

Now that I've written that all out I realize I can just dose to that target amount(broken down into a few doses like the corrective elements) and then check consumption on my next ICP test.

Would that be a good way of going about it?

Thank you Eggie. You've instilled some confidence in me

Sounds like a fine plan to me. :)
Thanks so much Randy. I would have never had the guts to buy all the elements to dose myself had i not read all your posts and threads regarding the subject. You're an asset the the forum and we are very lucky to have you. Thank you for taking the time.
