Reef octo pumps

Does anyone know if reef octo skimmer pumps for the reef classic 150 just peter out after awhile? I have cleaned my pump with SICCE citric acid and everything seems to be running as usual but the skimmer DOES not skim like it used to. I tried everything, no calcium buildup but No performance. Pump is only 6 months old. FO fed three times a day. Please advise. Thanks!
