Reef Octopus 1000 HOB

Hello all, I'm currently looking for a HOB protein skimmer for my 40 gallon breeder tank. Initially, I was looking for a Reef Octopus 90 HOB. I found a Reef Octopus 1000 HOB locally on FB for a good price, my question is would this be too strong for my tank even if I was to set it to the lowest possible setting? I see online that it's rated for tanks up to 130 gallons.

I actually use that skimmer on my 32 gallon. I use a Deltec 600i on my 40 breeder also rated for 100+ gallons. IMO no such thing as too much power

If you have a chance to buy it at a good price then go for it, its an amazing skimmer, easily better than the Aquaready's and Bubble Magus skimmers I've tried before
