Thinking about buying the Reef Power RP-M for 40 gallon breeder. Logan at Reefbreeders told me he recommends 2 for my tank. Just wondering if 1 would be enough. I have a mixed reef with just a couple SPS.

Yea one is fine , two is better.

Hang the one a little higher. And turn up the intensity to compensate.

You want to fill the shape of the tank as best you can.

Where would be the best place to put 2?

Look at the top pic.
The Rug is square. On a rectangle you’d want to scoot over the light and fill the side next to it.

BUMP. I am interested in these powerheads as well. on a 40 breeder, from what I've seen, I think one on the end would be plenty. (At least to start out).

I have a 150 gal (5'x2'x2') and am thinking about putting two of these either on the back, or one in back and one in side (tank is kind of in a corner so trying to leave front and one side open). Anyone else use these powerheads?

I have 1 RP-M in the same tank. I was looking at getting 3 more but decided to get 3 Jaebo 0W-40's because of the price. The flow spreads out too much in that size tank. I would plan on 4. Seems like a good pump so far just FYI when you clean it unplug the 110v outlet first then the 12v plug.

Wow really? 4 sounds expensive haha. Have you seen the Jebao SLW-20?

I’m looking to get one of these too for my 33 long.. he told me two also.. but I’m gonna try one and see how that works considering it’s not a wide tank. Did you ever get one?

Has anyone seen the BRS 360 videos?? My son and I are downsizing from a 90gal standard tank. We had two Jebao pp-8 providing flow. Can't believe how old they are and still run great. We were using a JWwave to control them. What great little controller. Unfortunately it seems you can't get the app off the Apple app store anymore.
So like I said we are downsizing to a 40 breeder drilled to emulate a Peninsula style tank. My idea was to run two RP-M 's on each side of the overflow running down the length of the tank.

They aren't a great velocity of flow like one needs for an SPS dominate tank. For anything else I think 2 in a 40 should be good flow
