Not likely. Most stores are required by law to have a mold or mildew agent in the silicone. This is basically an antibacterial. You need aquarium or marine silicone. I use GE SCS 1000.

ge I 012a is safe, dont use any of the geII and though I havent seen it here there is some of the geI that has the anti mold/mild now. The difference is the curing agent between the I and II and the II is never safe with or without the anti mold stuff in it

GE Silicon I works fine... don't get II cuz it has chemicals to prevent mold

we just went through this they make both ge I and ge II with and without mold and mildew inhibitors

actually no store is required to carry one version or the other. the only requirements are when it comes to the food industry and several other industries

jelly with the way these various silicones are shipped to them if you actually ordered that on the site you could get about 7 different products. you have to actually check the tube to see that it doesnt actually contain the inhibitors

no we didnt forget nixer 012a doesnt have the inhibitor the 012b does. For a few more dollars just pick up the allglass or prefecto stuff they carry it at super kmart if you have one close its under 15 dollars for the 10oz tube. Nixer is right if you arent sure dont use it not worth a few bucks to end up killing your live stock. I can say that the 012a is safe though I have used it many times over the years

As I stated before "FYI the GE SCS 1200 label states that it is not to be used under water. I have seen others post that they use it, but they have not read the label. I purchased two 10 oz. tubes of the stuff and it clearly states that it is not to be used underwater. That is enough of a warning that it is not aquarium safe. Listen to what I am saying.....Don't waste money like did, in fact $20.00 in the trash.....just my two cent on the matter.....
