Torch is looking happy today, however now it is extended I notice the tentacles are touching the green chalice to the left. so going to go in remove the plug it is on, and angle it to the right which will hopefully just make it a problem for future me to deal with lol.

The acro also seems to be doing well for day 1.

Tank was looking decent this afternoon.

Picked up a small hammer frag at a local frag farmers market this weekend. It’s small and may be one of the same as another hammer i already have. The new one had more green on it when I saw it at the show so will have to wait for it to grow a bit and color up some more.

The Roa’s injuries from battling with the blenny seem to be healed. It is by far the most personable butterfly I have ever encountered. Always right up against the glass when I am in the room. Comes up to check out any tools when ever I work on the tank. Have to be careful when I put in the mag cleaner.

Broke out the DSLR for some photos today.

Full tank shot that got the three butterflies in it

Prognathodes is doing well seems to be putting on weight, I still don't see it eating during feeding times but it usually comes out when I put food in the tank.

Burgess didn't want his picture taken so this was as good as I got today.

Roa is also doing well it seems, was a pain to get a decent photo of him.

Couldn’t sleep tonight so grabbed the phone orange filter and wide angle lens. So some of the photos aren’t the best still getting a hang of it. And the twilight lights are not the most conducive to good photos.

The butterflies congregated for a blurry photo.

Update on the mystic sunset over the dead monti cap skeleton. I’m pretty happy with how it has turned out. Going to frag the mystic sunset mother colony again to fill in some of the gaps at the top. At this point this is probably a larger colony than the mother.

Had to move the green monti cap which was in the upper left here as it was shading out the hammer and frogspawn garden below. Starting to see tissue recession on several of the heads. Moved it to the right with the large monti cap.

Oh wow, the replacement monti has turned out beautifully!!!
Thanks! I am real happy I gave it a try. I don't know what I am going to do with it once it starts overgrowing this colony though. I am running out of places to put it, and it grows like a weed.

Not a particularly fun update but some important tank maintenance updates:

MP40 wetside Rusted out, took a few weeks to get a replacment, but that is now installed.
Rusted magnet on the old wetside, sure my corals weren’t happy about that:

New wetside seems far more powerful had to turn down the pump a couple notches

Also replaced the UV bulb with the upgraded 55w bulb little longer than the standard 40w but fits with room to spare. Good to get a over 35% increase in UV power. And replace an old bulb.

Sorry it isn’t more interesting. Perhaps after the holidays I can get back to more interesting tank work.

Boring photography update, but got some kool things in the pipe coming soon hopefully.

Got some gel filters for my big boy camera for Christmas so I can take more evening photos under full blues.

I really got to go in with a razorblade and get the stubborn algae on the front glass.

Just wanted to wish you luck with this tank - one of my favorites here - as I say goodbye to r2r.

I didn't join this forum in order to be pushed back into a closet, I joined in order to laugh at the funny 3d printed hats people make for their sea urchins and to share my love for marine life.
