We’ve discussed this, but it doesn’t really hold up well in a practical sense. The challenge is getting users to know of - and use properly - the tags.
It’s hard enough explaining to new users how the single RS tag works (include it and helpful people will get actively notified). That’s just one relatively simple tag. By the time a user could learn of even a handful of tags, they would have a good enough understanding of the site to use the various forum sections to ask their questions in.

Of course; nothing stops anyone from using #whateverhashtagtheywant. Once a tag exists, anyone could follow that tag just the same as the RS follows the RS tag. So topic-centric help tags can certainly be something that organically grow on the site... :)

I was thinking when a call for help went out in a particular forum it would be dispatched to members assigned to the forum. So the normal single has tag would be used but behind the scenes the summons would be tagged to members associated with that forum.

Just overthinking it. I was likening it to my job. I am an adjuster. The accident gets reported and the system assigns to us based on area or zip. I was thinking the request would be the ax and the zip or area would summon the member.

But the again I think this is high tech.:)

The worst part is you won't know if you're on the naughty list or not. I mean I know I am but I have an inside source in Santa's work shop;)

That kind of system requires not only the technical pieces (which may or may not exist), but also the manual configuration and maintenance that makes it actually work. That configuration and such is something that the RS isn’t really into, to be honest. If we wanted to manage systems and lists, we would have become #mods. And who in their right mind wants THAT thankless job?!? ;-)
