This is a Red Sea Max E - 170 in my bedroom (viewed from my comfy adjustable bed). I wanted a tank in this spot for a while. Life decided I would take the plunge into reefs.

This is the tank a day after it was setup. The water cleared and I later cleaned the glass :)

Here is my reef. His name is Harry. (The resident clown photobombed me again, her name is Amy)

It is only beginning :).

Hi, Mark Novack here.

~180 gallon erected in July 2018 with live rock from a succesful SPS tank. The rock lived in the dark with filtration and water changes for almost a year between aquariums.
Theme is aggressive fish and morays with semi noxious soft corals, mushrooms, gorgons, and anemones.

Lighting Giesemann Aurora LED/T5 hybrid.

Skimmer Quantum Nyos

Mechanical filter is a Theiling Rollermat auto advancing roll filter and I really like it very much.

Some biopellets that are not convincing me.

Purigen also. I must say the water stays crystal clear.

How do you start a build thread?

Thanks

Choose one of the sections -----> HERE depending on your tank.
Then click "Post New Thread" on the top right under the search bar.

Tank is 24' x 24' x 19' giving about 40 gallons

Started the build Jan of 2018 and it was filled and salted June 2018.

The thread for my setup was only recently started here but I'm gonna hopefully jam pack it with all the details ASAP!

Okie, I will throw my hat in for fun if nothing else. :) I have a 75g SCA Mixed thats been running for just over 2 years. I ran into some issues that held everything up quite a bit at the 6 month mark until a month or so ago but shes back on the right track now. This is my 3rd tank and I have finally found a system thats working for me. Coral is starting to grow and params are stable with the newly converted triton method. Plenty of pics in the thread. :)
