Hey guys, I am looking into buying a light for my new tank, but I am not sure what to get? I have two Wills aquarium lights, and i am wanting one good one for some better corals, what one should I get? I have a 400$ budget.

You will get many answers. What size tank? Depth? Sps, lps, mixed?

Tank size and length?
Also fish only, or mixed reef?

Challenge with this question is many have a preference or liking for a certain light. I run all orphek but have a 10ft tank and will not recommend such lighting

and it is 4ft long, but i am only wanting one light for the centre of the tank and have the Wills on the edges.

I run an AI blade grow at the moment and it's nice. I also have a merdian that I will be testing. I have also looked at the vipraspecs (sp?).

75g with a center brace?

I’d look at couple Nicrew Gen 2 100s. Right around $400

For starters...tank size, what are you planning on keeping, and budget?

Two of These ?

Two of these should be plenty for a 75g. Black boxes can grow pretty much anything.

You want to put another light in the middle and run these on the outsides ? There would be tons of spill…
Does the 75g have a center brace?

yes

i am also thinking of trying a light off of aliexpress just for fun! have you tried any of them?

On my 75 I have a center brace also. I am using two reefbreeder meridan 11’s, connected together with a ICS rail kit. The spectrum and adjustability is much improved over a black box.

These are about 450 each. You could always get one, and then see how you like it compared to the wills. The spread on these is very good as well
