Reef2Reef functionality request - stl files in posts

As 3D printing becomes more prevalent in the hobby it may behoove us to innovate the community page by adding the ability to upload and exchange stl files.
If it is an easy addition to the posting toolbar it would be great to have in-line 3D files in our posts.

Additional functionality like a repository for helpful aquarist prints can then be considered.

But all the links lead off-site. I guess I'd probably still keep my parts at a dedicated place like prusa or thingiverse but it would be nice to be able to embed 3D into forum posts like images so lists like the parts list is more informational or so people could quickly exchange files without the formality of uploading to a public repository.

A lot of these pre-packaged forum editors have the option to add functionality pretty easily. -- that's all I was thinking about... Like if it a Boolean in a config somewhere on the backend.

I just saw a YouTube video for Google's model viewer and think it would be awesome if we could do that with 3D files in posts. (click on google link and manipulate the astronaut.)

There are two levels to this functionality.
One, being just the ability to upload the stl filetype with a static image or just an icon so others could download it from a post.
The second would be displaying it with 3D navigation similar to how you can sometimes get previews in Thingiverse that when clicked upon, allow you to manipulate the object by spinning it around, panning and zooming.

I feel this functionality would be a vast improvement over just sharing links to thingiverse/similar.
