ReefDose2 - purchase in December 2021. The first motor failed at 1.5 years and was replaced under warranty by Red Sea. Now one year later, the other motor doesn't work and will cost around $35 to purchase a new one.

I really like the Reefdose but am skeptical of the quality of the motors sourced when both have failed in a two motor unit. The drive units should be built to last for the price of these units.

Anyone else experienced this issue?

This coming December my reefdose 2 will be 2 yrs old and I haven’t had any issues with it. Knock on wood I don’t start having any now that I wrote this.

Hopefully it is just my bad luck. I haven't seen a lot of posts mentioning motor failure, but also hard to believe this is rare when my unit lost both of them under normal use.

yeah may be your luck. It happens maybe you got a lemon. Look up any doser and someone has something negative to say about it. I guess it’s the luck of the draw.

Well, luckily I kept the old motor from head #1 that would work around 50% of the time and just swapped it with this one that is completely dead. At least it may buy me time until I can get a replacement shipped.
