Got this dosing line holder from 3D Printed. My sump only has two dosing line holders. I have to take off the outside bulkhead holders to get to the thumb screws when mounting or unmounting.

Since there will be two output pipes for return pumps, an ATK bracket, and maybe a magnetic probe holder, to get to the dosing bracket thumb screws my arm has to go above the two baffles between the skimmer section and return section of the sump. Then to have the room for my arm I’ll have to remove the skimmate collector and skimmer.

All that to get the dosing holder bracket off so I can get to the ATK bracket or service the return section of the sump for anything else.

Is 3D Printed a company? That’s a fairly large google search when looking that name up
@ddaddy2420 ok then try Printed3D.Parts he has some really great things. 100+ things on his site. Great service and quality. I gave him some wrong measurements and he sent me something that wouldn’t work. He sent me the right thing free of charge. His name is Stratos Geroulis. Must be foreign.

I’m going to be up most of the night working on cord labeling and organizing. Just made a major plumbing order to PVCpipeSupplies.com they require a $100 minimum.

@samnaz there’s a lot of things on his website that I’d like to have. This dosing bulkhead holder is a Godsend! I had no thoughts as to how to go about securing dosing lines without getting them jarred around, to plop down in front of the skimmer intake and gum it up, or even get pulled out of the sump completely. I even thought about putting my lines into the display tank. I toyed with the idea of the holders that clamp to the sump rim and you stick the line in the hole and screw it down in place with a thumb screw. With the one I have the dosing solutions drip straight down directly above my return pump intake and shouldn’t precipitate minerals everywhere.

Now I'm leaning towards Real Reef Rock versus Maricultured liverock like KP Aquatics or TB Saltwater. A little less spendy, no worry of pests, and zero cure time for Real Reef makes it quite attractive.

Hey Powers,
Came across your build when I was searching for Synergy TS26, as I'm looking to make the sump swap for my RS250. Curious, how come you decided not to use it ? Just wanted the roller mat instead ?

@hans4811 that was the main reason for the decision but also because the Triton method recommends having 20% of your total system water volume for the refugium and that sump didn’t have it. The guy at Synergy (can’t remember his name) didn’t design his 26” sock sumps to support the Klir filter so he made the first one for me. He had to buy a Klir to get all the right measurements and when he was done with it sold me his Klir since he didn’t need it anymore. I also had him cut the 26” length design down to 24” and man that made a huge difference in cabinet space. Synergy was awesome to work with.

From the site...Triton Method requires a Refugium with at least 10% of the main display tanks volume. This sump will support up to a 80 gallon Triton Method tank.

Refugium Section: 10.5″ x 14.5″ x 11.5″ – Actual Volume 8 Gallons

Thought you had a RSR250 like me ? 54g display , this is why I'm liking this sump....much bigger than trying to do what a lot of people do, and convert that tiny ATO container, which is only like 2-3 gals.

@hans4811 I remember some time before the Triton method some experts were saying a refugium should be at least 20% of total water volume to be effective. One of those experts was Julian Sprung. Although a 10% minimum could be effective with the Triton method because one of the ingredients in their proprietary additives acts as a fertilizer for macro algae.

@hans4811 since we’re on the subject of refugiums I’ll finally introduce my in-tank refugium. It’s strictly for pod production, having some macro algae, and has a 2 USG volume of water. It’s macro algae won’t make a dent in excess nutrients, has a “pod hotel”, and won’t need a fuge light since it’s in-tank and the display lights will shine through the front acrylic. The refugium’s IceCap Pod HABITAT is for copepod and amphipod breeding. It’s called the CPR CITR Pro and hangs on the back of the tank so I can also use it for fish social acclimation or to house a sick fish.

Well sad to say my build has hit a big slump in progress with more plumbing. The main hold up is waiting for the inline probe holder to come out, buy one, and start plumbing that. Or finally getting enough information on the holder to pass up the purchase if I find it won’t work for me. I do have a couple orders coming in soon and will post on them and maybe one or two more orders before the end of the month.
