This weekend I noticed my Reefer250's front seal has an air gap. Should I be concerned with this turning into a leak? I'm not sure if it's always been there or progressively formed. This tank is probably 4yrs old. I noticed here this seems to be a common thread. Is this issue always been the case w these tanks or is it somewhat limited?

It's all on the inside. There are some marks I made with a silver marker to outline the air gap so I can watch it. I circled the marker marks I made..

Gotcha (good idea). It looks like there's two spots there might be a bubble? (not sure how far the lower one extends to the sides)

I'd also contact Red Sea but I think after 4 years you'll be out of warranty. Definitely look into a WiFi leak detection sensor in the interim. I'm not sure if replacing the tank is an option, but it may be something you want to start exploring now before it potentially deteriorates further (and when you might be able to find a good deal). Do you have a spare or QT tank?

How concerned should you be? Not entirely sure. I have a Red Sea but haven't had any issues with any of the seals. I know others have, though. Hopefully one of the, will weigh-in.

I don't have a spare tank large enough. I think I probably need to start looking asap as I got some nice sps that I don't want to have to put in a tough situation.

Hi, I look every day for this Red Sea problem on my 250. I would definitely be worried @Waynerock went through this not long ago on his rsr250.

One of those large rubbermaid farm troughs works really great in a pinch.
