so. after 3 months of QT and fallow, the fish and a bunch of new fish are in. went through a terribly ugly phase when i was trying H2O2 dosing where the algae took over the entire tank. Things have cleared up.

Now currently:
Purple Tang
Firefish
Ocellaris Clown
Yellow Chrysus Wrasse
Coral beauty.

Unfortunately the only corals that survived are
leptastrea (quite bleached, possibly too much PAR).
Leptoseris (growing slow, partially died off due to the algae)
Pocillopora
A montipora digitata (i salvaged a fragment and glued it onto a piece of rock rubble and forgot about it, strangely enough this is the fastest growing thing in the tank)
cyphastrea
alveopora

New equipment added since last update:
Alkatronic (to monitor alk, so far not a fan. appears to lose calibration quickly and measures high despite multiple calibrations, but it gives me a trend)
2 x OR4 bars for supplementation.

Pics when I am home from work!

Multiple new corals ordered. excited to finally get this tank going again.

i did want to eventually add a one spot foxface. maybe a mandarin goby. I know the purples can get quite mean so i'm not sure if this is a good idea. any thoughts?

One thing after another.

Currently dealing with a Dino outbreak. Looks like prorocentrum. My nutrients had bottomed out so now dosing nitrates and phosphates to bring it up. Looks like I’m starting to seen some green…hope on the horizon.

Fighting Dino’s again for the second time , elevated nutrients , bacteria dosing, and lower light for 1-2 weeks seems to really help. A UV can also be beneficial

currently dosing neophos, neonitro. maintaining nutrients. Did dose microbacter 7 a few times. the battle is not over, but gradually having algae take over...will update with pictures later..

Sodium nitrate is cheaper nitrate dosing if you need it , I went through a whole bottle of Neo nitro quickly .

Updated photos.

Inhabitants largely happy.

Nitrates now at 11, phos 0.15. The green stuff is slowly taking over, which I presume is either algae or green cyano.

Definitely looks like a type of cyano, I would recommend some more flow / possibly a gyre , cyano thrives in low flow low oxygenation. Potentially introduce a macro algae to out compete as well

I do have a lot of flow going around in the tank. Right now it’s set just short of sand blowing all around.

I thought the brown stuff was prorocentrum because it tends to mostly go away at night and gets worse through the day. It also broke out when my nutrients bottomed out. I suppose it could be cyano as well tho.

If it goes away at night it is likely Dino’s could be a mix as well. Nothing that can’t be beaten though, maybe add some miracle mud
