Reefmat 1200 Question

I have a Reefmat 1200 and don’t know why I get all this debris going into my sump. Thanks for any help.

Just very fine debris that didn’t get caught by the mat honestly. I typically have a thin layer after a week or two. Not unusual anecdotally from me haha.

Do you ever suck it up during a water change? Thats honestly the best way to remove it. But it’s pretty much unavoidable. Socks also don’t catch the very fine things normally.

Agree. No physical filtration will stop everything. I bought a plastic wet/dry vac and it’s been a game changer for me cleaning all this stuff out during a water change. Can’t believe it took me this long to get one.

Probably have the same one haha but I still use a thin hose for the sump (have rubble rock in there). Absolutely amazing for water changes though!
