I'm setting up a new sump and I'm using the reefmat 1200 anyone know what a good water depth would be? I'm trying to make it silent running a bean animal overflow

Bumping your post!

I wouldn't say there is a set water depth. Here's where mine is. Its probably 2" from the overflow openings in the side. This is definitely deeper than you would really want, I'm going to put it up on stands in the future. I've read that the deeper you make it, the faster you will go through a roll since you are already starting at a higher level which makes sense.

It doesn't really matter as long as long as you are using the legs or the tank hanger. I have two that run at different depths and they both work great. Its easy to over think these things because they are so simple.

Sorry to dig up old post, but would like to know more info on hard plumbing the feed to RM.
