Where do I start. Well lets start on Craigalist, and my absolute amazement when I found a 90 gallon ReefSavvy rimless tank 48" wide by 24" deep by 18"tall. Perfect! I had to buy it, so I did.

It cam with a glass-holes 1500 gallon/hr overflow which was great but I wanted better, and quieter. I decided to build a custom bean animal style overflow. I had a local shop cut some acrylic I had laying around and it worked out perfectly.

I had about 100lbs of live rick from a previous that I dried and saved for when I decided to dive bak into the hobby. I started it curing in the garage in a rubbermaid bin with my skimmer, can you say skimate! Its amazing how bad it smelled, but after about a month it just smells like fresh ocean, pretty cool. Going to head to my local LFS and get some fresh cured rock to seed it with.

I have to mention the stand that came with the tank, although it kicks *** because it has sliding doors it's absolutely hideous. So I will be refinishing it. I mocked up the rocks in it before I started curing it to tease myself. The sump and the skimmer came with the tank which is pretty cool as well.

Still deciding on lighting, thinking hydras. Going to setup an auto water change system, we all hate water changes... Still a long way to go but i'm stoked about getting it done!

Reef Savvy's are awesome. I've got 2 AI Sols on my 50 but they don't give enough color blending at various times during the day so I will upgrade to Hydras next year. I will be following to see if you do too.

Yeah, the price it was originally listed for was a little crazy, I got it for less than half that with the stand sump and skimmer. I cant wait to post pics of the stand when its done. I ordered the Walnut veneer for it this weekend, should look awesome. On a side note when I picked up the this setup the guy showed me his new tank, a 320 reefsavvy, it was CRAAAZYYYY!

I got some cured liverock from my LFS yesterday to seed my old curing live/dry rock, I'll post some pics later today.

Yup, should have the stand refinished by this weekend, I'll post some pics. I also got the return pump, power head and a bunch of other goodies. Time to get her wet for a leak test!

Thanks for all the encouragement! So I removed the drawer and it made a huge difference for getting around under the tank. I got the AI brackets installed and the skimmer under the tank. Made a custom stand for the skimmer out of the extra acrylic I had from the overflow. I decided to try a Jebao DC9000 for the return pump, curious how it holds up. I leak tested last night and everything was great to my surprise!

The stand panels are still drying so I will post a pic a little later of them. I also took some wide shots so you can see where I placed the tank on my living room.
