I bought some Chateo and placed it in my fudge a few weeks later, it looks like it died. Started disappearing and not looking good. Looks like most is dead. Still, there is some in there, but not much. There was pool slim on top. My light is just sitting on top and running for 12 hours a day. I have a hang on the back aquamaxx fudge. Light to strong killing this???
Thanks

The way you can tell macroalge is dead is if it turns white/clear. It’s possibly but chaeto loves various lighting especially the red-blue spectrum. Did you put it in freshwater for an extended period which will kill it and what are your nutrients? If it doesn’t have anymore nutrients to absorb then it might die.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
