Hi,

Am looking to start adding smooth skinned to my acro collection. Placements available are lower on the bottom of the tank and on the sides receiving around 200-250 PAR from my dual radium 250 watts .
Tank is 30 in x 30 in x 18 in deep.
Want to know your favorite smooth skinned ones and what PAR do you keep them ?

Regards,
Abhishek

Hawkins Echinata 250-350 par

Funny you mention Hawkins as i just bought one 2 weeks back and kept it around 300 PAR. its still browned out but I think its just acclimatizing .
Hopefully it will be back in glory .

Abhishek

They're very hardy. Should pull through no problem. Another nice Acro is the WWC moonshine or Needle In a haystack

Thanks for the reply. Do you suggest me moving it around or just leave it as it is and let it acclimatize ? I hate moving acros as they take so much time to acclimate again in new spots .
Will check on the moonshine and Needle In a Haystack.

Give it some more time. 18" with dual Radiums is pretty intense at any depth. Do you have any other Acros? Browning of Acros is one of two things usually- not enough light or high nutrients.

Well I have lots or atleast in my experience , its the most number of acros I had in my life. Around 20- 25 .
Mostly from Adam of Battlecorals .
Nutrients - well I have blue star leopard harem of 3 , a pair pf clowns , 3 Randalls anthias , 2 charlenaes and 3 loris .
So i feed a lot but nitrates around 5-10 and phosphates around 0.05 according to latest ICP testing.

Looks good to me. The Hawkins is most likely adjusting. Do you know if the Hawkins was under MH previously?

Well the Hawkins was fragged and kept under 150 watts of Phoenix . Originally the mother colony is under radium .

My favorite smooth skin Acro is my Hawkins. Nothing beats that Baby blue.
