Regal Angel pair

My Maldives Regal pair started spawning this year. I'm not sure when exactly, but I caught them in the act for the first time on June 15th:



Interesting is that both are still rather small.

How big is “rather small” Thomas?

How big is “rather small” Thomas?

The male is about 140 mm TL, female is about 110 mm TL.
The male is about 7 to 8 years old. I have had him now for 6 years and 9 months and I estimate that he was between 6 months to 18 months old when I got him (55 mm TL at that time).

Maybe it is more an age thing than a size thing. I would love to see them spawn.

Hard to see in the blue light. But promising. Means they are in great health.

I have had mine almost 5 years now. Considering buying a 2100 CADE reef tank. I think they would love the upgrade. Just not sure how to do the transfer safely. Since the tank will go in the same spot it will be an undertaking.

I still have the white tailed bristle tooth tang. And the large zoster. They all do well together.

Bought a 230.6 Infinia Waterbox. Now comes the challenge of moving my little guys into holding tanks while getting the new tank ready.

It’s here. And it’s big. Didn’t seem so big when I ordered it. I might need to consider some help to move it

I moved my fish a few weeks ago into several cycled tanks. Sadly the large angel stressed out so much it died 3 days later on Mother’s Day. My husband buried it under a rose bush he bought. I had her 6 years. Very sad

@Zionas thank you. I sold the new tank I bought for my angels. It was a 230.6 Waterbox. And the person who bought it is also taking my surviving large fish. Including my surviving angel. He has lots of experience and I know they will be well taken care of in their new home.
