I set up a cheap remote camera with night vision and 360 degree viewing so that I can keep an eye on my tank while I'm gone on vacation next week. I have come to the conclusion that this is a bad idea. I keep logging in to it off and on all day just to stare at my tank.

I thought by the title of this your message that this was going to be much worse than what you wrote.

lol No. It's just bad for me getting anything done. Mentally I'm already on vacation, add to that the ability to stare at my tank during the day and that's not good for work production.

I got a cheap D-Link DCS-5020L. It's not HD but it serves its purpose. It will pan up and down and rotate 360. It also has night vision and had wifi. I just ran an extension chord to it and placed on a stand a few feet from the tank. I'll leave the doors to the sump area open so I can keep an eye on that area also while we are away.
