After researching replacing the glass I quickly found out that old silicone and new do not match. But, would adding a eurobrace on the bottom of the tank take care of that issue?

I’m trying to figure out what you mean by a ‘euro brace on the bottom of the tank,’ but in general the concern is that there won’t be a good, water tight seal, so from that perspective, no.

I have read a variety of opinions related to this question and I have seen people take many approaches and they have had various levels of success. IME the best way to replace a broken panel is to disassemble the tank and start to rebuild from there. After the last time that I successfully rebuilt a 120g, I promised myself that I wouldn't do it again so it has been a few years.
