Replacing Old Liverock with already established live rock?

Hello!

Just found out a friend is breaking down their tank and I really like pieces of their live rock. I was wondering since both our tanks are established would it be as simple as removing approximately the same amount of rock in my tank, then replace with another approximately equal amount of rock. Would this alleviate any crash? Any advice for how I can go about swapping out the rock without compromising bacteria colonies on either end of the swap!

Yup, pretty much. Keeping down the detritus to a minimal and you'll be fine just swapping it out.
