No, but regular replacement went just fine. I think I know why the old one stopped working.

Ha ha ha …. yeah, all the times I speculated idly about why this or that died …. not much ambiguity here. I was a tad too aggressive in drilling out the rivets though, even machine screws won’t work now.

Thanks so much for the post. Super easy thanks to the learning above. Getting the rivets out correctly was the hardest part. My unit is like new now.

Just ordered mine from Amazon and will replace it finally. I’ve had mine since 2013 and it’s been dead for years! Crazy how they want over $200+ for a replacement.
