i got a few concerns..
needed to build a new stand to house a bigger sump so i upgraded to a 75 gallon from 55. i currently have all live stock in a 40g tank chillin.
i plan on using most of the water thats in the 40g since thats the original water from the tank before. however, i will be filling up 50 gallons in the new tank using tap water and salt(rodi water would require me to purchase and move over 15 buckets.. not doin that). most of my live rocks has been in my new sump in 2 of the 3 compartments with a small powerhead. my big concern lies here. not all of the rock is completely submerged and some of the isolated rocks got black gunk on them. i took those out and are letting them dry out. im not sure if my other rocks are still alilve do the increasing salinity of the water and not using a heater. i have roughly 60lbs of hatian live rock and my concern is have dead rocks leach toxic things into the new tank.
if anyone seeing any cause for concern please let me know.
btw, my old tank has algae problem. my new tank is gonna be bare bottom with a 29 gallon sump/refugium and will be runnig skimmer and gfo reactor.
