Hey reef2reef, ordering the plumbing for my tank, it will be all orange and grey schedule 80 fittings. The orange PVC doesn’t come in 1.25” that the vectra L2 calls for, would 1 inch be ok? There’s only 4 ft of head pressure, then 12 ft horizontal pressure. I’m aiming for around 1500 gph.

Are you using a single return pump? If you reduce a 1.25" output immediately to 1", you may encounter a lot of friction loss. If one pump was feeding to split to a pair of 1 ” outputs, then you could likely minimize your friction loss. I would try to stick with a 1.25" output, until you T off to two one inch outputs. This would allow you to reduce friction loss, and the pump would run more efficiently meaning more flow, watt for watt.

If you are looking for orange pvc pipe in 1.25", it looks like BRS stocks that. https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/orange-schedule-40-pipe-5-ft.html

You will not get anywhere close to 1500 GPH with 1" Sch 80 Pipe. Way undersized for that flow. Probably more like 600-700 GPH. Not sure why you need that much flow, but if it is needed you should have 1-1/2"discharge splitting to at least dual 1" lines.

350 gallon tank, 3-5 times turn over.
I would upsize to 1 1/2" PVC which does come in Orange although as mentioned above, you can order 1 1/4" Orange PVC as well although I wouldn't buy it from BRS. 1" would be incredibly restrictive on that L2.
Maybe I’ll just do white PVC instead lol

That is a large tank. A COR-20 is limited to about 4-5 ft of head max at 1500 gph. You probably need a larger pump. I would look for one that will deliver 1500 gph at 7-8 ft of head. I would recommend a discharge manifold of 1-1/2" and at least three 1" returns to achieve 1500 gph. If you are willing to live with 3X turnover you could get by with just two.

Sorry. My mistake. The L2 should be capable of 1500 gph at 6-8 ft, although ETM does no provide flow curves. I would still debottleneck your plumbing as I suggested.

Pretty sure the only schedule 80 will be the fittings. AFAIK most all of the color PVC is sch40 unless talking about the grey schedule 80 electrical stuff. That said I do agree to upsizing to 1-1/2. that way most of the restrictions from fittings and valves will be around 1-1/4

I use these guys as well for colored PVC, they have various sizes to include what you are looking for. I went with the Grey dominate sch 80 plumbing from Lowes (non electrical) and Orange elbows( 90 & 45) from Aquarium Specialty, much cheaper for me
