This is a piggy back off my previous thread regarding my sump water level not cycling through my filter sock. I realized that I need to boost up the power on my return pump to make this happen.

I currently have a Sicce SDC 3.0 but it would need to be at 100% in order for the water to flow to the filter sock. Is this sustainable with the pump? Or am I just asking for a failure. Can’t get a new return pump in the near future but eventually want to upgrade to a higher flow so it doesn’t have to run at 100%.

This pump, how big is your tank? What type of overflow do you have?
All water should flow where it is supposed to go, do you want more water to flow over the filter sock say 100% like dumping a bucket of water over it?
Can you post a video or picture?

This was their original thread

OP If it were me I would look into a jebao return pump. You can get a stronger pump for a fraction of the cost. I run jebao DCP pumps and they're silent and have been reliable for me. One has been running 1.5 year, one 2.5 years and another 6 years before I broke down the tank. I've never even cleaned any of them. No Wi-Fi but i see no need for Wi-Fi on a return pump.

Yes, that’s the one. It’s a 57 gallon with a 20 gallon sump.

Overflow with a weir and an eshopps sump with built in refugium

Maybe I missed it, if your filter sock is clogged the water will go into the filter sock but not through it, so it will overflow, so the sump has a built in bypass so the water does not end up on the floor.
Can you remove the filter sock and see if the water goes down where the filter sock used to be.
