The stock return in my nano cube has suddenly decreased its output dramatically, I've taken it apart and it was almost perfectly clean, and when set in the "normal" operating position Impeller (N/S) it seems to work normally, but for the normal position to be used as a return pump, (impeller(E/W) it gets noisy and produced very little flow and gets pretty warm.

I have a K1 for circulation, and also have a K nano on the way along with an Aquac remora nano with a MJ 900, I've read the remora works much better with a MJ 1200, and have been thinking of purchasing a 1200 for the aqua C and using the 900 as a return, anyone see any problems with this? I'll just use the stock pump for mixing salt.

Before the pump started acting up the tank would clear from a thorough sand stirring in about 15 minutes, now its constantly silty due to my pistol shrimp and what not.

should be ok. i liked running larger pumps than that when i had my 24g aquapod, but as long as you have good flow in the tank you should be fine.

What would you reccomed for the return? The MJ 900 doesnt cut it in the least....the stock pump was doing fine until recently, and its rated lower than the 900 I think. Good news is I dont have any more micro bubles, bad news is the tanks silty as all get out cause its barely pulling water through the filter chambers....
