Looking for suggestions for a countdown timer for the return pump during feeding time. Every so often I go to feed the tank and notice that I did not plug it back in after their last feeding. Searching Amazon, I found some simple options (that have a 5 minute, 15 minute, 30 minute, etc. button) but they are designed so that it is only powered on during that period and shuts off the power after that duration. Obviously looking for something that stays powered on constantly and only powers off for X amount of minutes during feeding.

All of my returns are DC and have a feed option. Do you run a skimmer? I stopped shutting the return off on tanks I'm running a skimmer because I kept forgetting to shut it off also and it would overflow.
I'm not aware of a timer that allows selecting the off time. Maybe you can use a Smart plug to turn the pump off using an app vs having to unplug it but you would have to remember to turn it back on.

Get a spring timer that has either SPDT or DPDT terminals and wire the power to the NC contacts.

I use a Kasa power strip. You can set a timer; or manually/program it turn it off/on on individual plugs from the app

The Hydros controller has a feed mode that you can use to stop any pumps that are under Hydros control and once the time set for the feed mode expires it will start things back up. You can even set a delay on the skimmer so it does not start when the return starts. I have mine set to a 10 minute delay.

If you want to DIY

Or a simple spring wound timer with SPDT contacts. Wire it in the normally closed configuration, setting timer breaks contact and turns off pump.
