Hello all! Goes without saying, once you start i this hobby it never lets go. After a 2 yr hiatus and lurking in the forums I couldn't take it anymore and "convinced" the wife to let me keep a reef. the only condition was I couldn't set up my 90. I had no intention of going lower than my JBJ 28 but then I saw the Nuvo nanos and after serious research I decided to go with a ten. I was able to use a lot of my old equipment off my 28 so It wasn't a financial dent.

This was my initial mock-up.

I have an AI Prime, ATK Smart ATO, Biocube skimmer, Aqueon 100 watt heater, IM Media basket with filter floss, Chempure nano, and Seachem Matrix, Jebao 10 wave maker, and i'm adding Kalk via my ATO.

I started the cycle with turbo 900 bacteria. It took two bottles and 3 weeks because I used dry rock and sand, (from my previous tank). You'll notice that I also changed the tank from the metal table to a hefty file cabinet I had in the house. I didn't like the instability and this hides all the wiring much better.

After everything tested stable I got my first coral, an elegance and acan.

I just got done feeding them and I'm super excited.
Thoughts so far: Thanks to the advancements the hobby's made in the past couple of years keeping a nano (with the appropriate equipment), is WAY easier than I expected. I'm enjoying myself just as much if not more than when I had a full sized tank. I am not planning on getting a whole bunch of fish. In fact I am only getting a gobies and shrimp combo and that's it. I am going to keep it LPS specific. I will keep updating as my reef evolves. Let me know what you think and keep on reefing!

Indecision may or may not be my problem.

Looks like a great start! :) I'm probably getting my girlfriend one of these Nuvo 10's for her first tank, they make a nifty little reef tank for sure!
