Hey All, I'm Hakon I'm from the San Francisco area and I've kept fish since I was a kid, barring a roughly 10 year hiatus that I'm just coming out of. I kept Marine and freshwater tanks although not a true reef as I didn't have the money way back. Around 9 months ago I started planning a rearrangement of my bedroom/office and part of that was going to be some sort of NANO reef. I was originally looking at a novel little 12g bullnose peninsula style tank by gankpike when the plan was to put it between my desks, I liked the idea of a bullnose for seamless viewing from around the front and sides. My plans for the space kept evolving though and I realized there was going to be a minimum 20x32 inch corner gap between my project desk and my main desk and I needed something to fill that gap and that could be a considerably larger tank (does any of this sound familiar?).
I've spent the last couple of months shopping tanks and researching... everything (ADHD obsessive hyperfocus). I settled on a Fijicube 38g AIO for the dimensions and relative ease of maintenance, sourced a flat top stand designed for a 40g breeder that fits into the space and will easily handle the tank and has room for a smaller tank underneath if I need a quarantine tank. My stand arrived yesterday, and my tank and some of the other gear is on the way for next week Planning to get everything ready for install over this weekend. I'll probably start a build thread once I actually start working on stuff.
