Hi all.
I'm coming back to the hobby after years away.
My old reef was a 400L with appx 20kgs of live rock, running HOB style filters, skimmer etc.
I had various corals over the 2 years it was running.
Fish were- a pair of clowns, a yellow tang, watchman goby, mandarin fish, hippo tang, 3 damsels, and the usual CUC.
I'm finally being allowed by swmbo to start my fish room, I'm converting 1 wall into a big display tank 6ft x2ft x3ft with sump, and a shallow frag tank 6ft x 2ft x1ft above (3 layers) then I'm planning on running a QT appx 2x2x2, a frag QT 1x2x2, 3 Clown breeder tanks with associated fry tanks, a nano on my desk and a few other tanks for some future plans.
I'm currently working out how to have all these tanks connected to 1 big sump to allow for water parameters being the same across the board but also allow for disconnecting tank as and when necessary (for treatments etc).
Sounds like a big plan and a huge cost but its going to be a step by step slow process.
I have been amazed by the amount of progress there has been in the reef world and how technology plays such a big parts of it now.
Definitely planning on running a Trident Neptune and some other smaller systems to help control all my parameters.
