Reusing old live rock

I know it's dead now but what's the best process for putting this rock in a new tank? It definitely has die off and dead coral from my nightmare flood.

My live rocks were dead when i put them in my tank but after being in the tank they changed color to purple.And now they are very good and beautiful.

You can just throw them in a rubber made tub, with a powerhead and a heater. You don't need any light. Keep an eye on it. It should create its own ammonia.

When do I know it's done? When the nitrates are 0?

No, you can pull them when your Nitrates are 40-60 and your Nitrites and Ammonia are 0

Scrubbing to remove extra organics may help a bit too - if there is obviously a lot.

Scrub them down real good. Than give them a muratic acid bath. Super dupper easy to do. Search and you will find all you need. Than do the cure soak before adding for a bit and imo you will be off to a better start

That's what I did...used small wire brush and knocked off as much as I could. Then soaked (cured) in NSW with powerhead for movement and no lights. I actually cured mine for a about two months while I built the rest of my system, but I realize that was overkill. No issues a year and a half in to this madness.
