reviving bleached sps/lps

Hello all,
Ive been working about 3 weeks on reviving some bleached corals.

My main question is...what type of food do you use for your small polyped corals? like cyphastrea, leptos, etc.
I have been using reef roids but I feel like they arent into it that much.
Anyone have any experience in this?

What are your nitrate levels?

I've been keeping fairly consistent at 10-20.
I've seen a little improvement with my bleached lps. So that encouraging.

What kind of light do you run and par levels where corals are?
What is your bioload?
Do you run your skimmer 24/7?
Any filter sock and what kind.
Carbon dosing, GFO, Bio-pellets?

I've never tested potassium
I run an ai prime, par where corals are located were between 50-100
My bio load is pretty high but never an issue with getting rid of that load. I run a skimmer and get about a cup a week.
I don't run a sock or any foam blocks.
I was running clemipure but I took it out about 2 weeks ago.

The original consensus is that the coral came from natural sea water parameters and high nutrients. My tank "was" high alk low nutrients. I'm 100% sure they were shocked by it.
They haven't been getting worse so I believe I've stopped the bleeding. Now I'm working on getting them back to normal. That's why I was asking for input on foods that could help with that. My acan that was receding tissue seems to have perked up with reef roids.

*right after I figured out the nutrient issues, I started using a natural sea water salt instead of coral pro salt with high alk.

For smaller polyps lps, i found best were sustainable aquatics pellets. Ive also used reef chilli and leftover scraps thawing my fish food. Now ive ben using calaneeze from 2littlefishies. The SA pellets worked the best for me.

and if you want some Diesel brew.............. mix some skimmate in there, as fish poop ain't bad either.
Any algae issues?
How often you clean your glass?
IMO, you can let your Po4 come up a bit slowly to 0.04

No algae issues what so ever.
I have had to clean the glass in at least 2 weeks
I'll keep that in mind for phos :)

I wouldn't really call a tank with 10-20 nitrates a low nutrient tank...
My experience with cyphastreas was that they are probe to light shock but recover nicely when placed in shade and slowly moved into the light.

It was at 0 with 0 phos. But I've been trying to keep it higher.

If you are currently having success with other sps/lps in your tank, and they are actively growing, time is your ally. It takes awhile for bleached corals to come around, depending on the individual coral, some may take months. I would recommend not exposing them to super intense lighting, off to the side for awhile, and make sure your fish are super fat and happy during this time, you for sure want some nutrients in the system as the above guys mentioned, and all the guys above me have had great success with their tanks! The first positive I usually notice when acros start to come around from bleaching, is good polyp extension. If you are noticing that, you are probably on the right track to recovery. Also, make sure you have good water circulation!

Well I don't have any sps buuuut I am noticing the bleached ones are getting "plumper" if that makes sense lol no real extension yet but I'm hoping I just can't see it and they're eating.

Well, if they are getting plump, that hopefully means they are regaining more tissue and starting to recover somewhat. High flow will really help acros, they love it!

Keep your tank balanced from now on.
Daily testing on No3 and ALK, feed good to keep the Po4 detectable even it is 0.02.
No3 at 20 isn't bad but bringing it back slowly to 10 ain't hurt either.

My experience with bleached sps after a bad experience dipping many colonies with Beyer a few years ago was to keep water params stable and everything as close to ideal as possible. I wouldnt worry about feeding sps, just keeping water nitrates/PO4 low, good flow, and patience....they do come back if given time
