Thanks bro. I havent even thought of the impact this could have....

Any ideas on how I could leave it here as there is NO other place for the tank at all. Plus I will need that outlet..

I made this splash guard for my outlet to help protect it.

i suggest you get an electrician to install a gfci outlet there, it saved me a few days ago when i foolishly touching the wires on my t5 ballast. my tank turned off and i took a step back, but other than some tingling i was fine.

looks like a great start, should be an awesome tank, I also agree about getting gfi oulet there, but don't use it to run your tunzes, if it does trip for some you still wanna have flow. the skimmer, lights, reactor, etc.. can go down until you can fix the situation but lack of flow could mess w/ things.

Ok update:

My buddy bkv1997 (Brandon) from my local reef club came over and helped me plumb the tank! Well I kinda helped him a little. :D He thought it all out and I am very pleased with it. I can remove all the plumbing and remove the skimmer or sump in a matter of minutes.

Underneath with skimmer and sump. I will have a filter sock installed on the return line.

Now with the top off tank and calcium reactor. I'll have enough room under there for the co2 tank and a couple reactors as well.

The Marco rock is a full ammonia strength and I am looking for it to start converting to nitrites very soon. I am thinking of moving the rock into the new tank and finishing the cycle there with nothing else in it of course. The rock has no foul oder any more.

I should be able to move my corals in the new tank in 2 weeks hopefully. :D

Looks good David.

Remember... I only helped if it didn't leak!

Glad you are happy. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

i would fill it from the hose to make sure it works, run the return pump and check for leaks. do this before you put saltwater in, that way you can empty it again with no loss of $alt

i see you already have the mag 9, but i suggest getting something else, with pipe that small and a lot of head pressure it is going to be loud and hot. something to keep an eye on.

nice clean job on the plumbing; it looks as good as i always planned mine to look.

3/4" for return?
1" for overflow?

Noted and I will take that into consideration. I got the MAG 9 new from my buddy for $60 so it was hard to pass up. If I change I am going to go external and plumb it into the sump.

no it's internal, but very efficient and quiet.

Hmmm thats worth some thought. I have to admit though I have never heard of them before....

Also what makes it efficient?

Thanks. ;)

David:

That buddy of yours told me he would just consider the pump a rental if you want and you could return it for the 10$ a week rental fee. :) :hammer:

mag 9 does about 800 at 4' at 93 watts.
