I'm having trouble getting this little guy to be happy. He really doesnt seem to like the light, but he doesn't open in the shade. He is in a very low flow area. Where do you put your ricordeas yo make them happy?

Light and flow don't really matter with these Ricordeas.
Assuming basic water chemistry is in check and somewhat stable-
They don't like to be moved around a lot.
Not by your hands and not by water movement.

As it looks to me, you may want to glue that frag-plug down.
Mine like to be attached to a solid rock/surface.

So maybe that will make it more happy :)

Hope I could help you a little bit :)

Mine have done great in the sand and at the top of my tallest rock. This is a rare instance where light intensity did now seem to affect anything. It did seem irritated by high flow. As a general rule, anytime I add something new I start on the sand so it can acclimate to my lights, than slowly move up.

I'm trying to get it off the plug, its ugly. I guess I'll just leave him where he is for a week and see what happens.

How’s the little guy doing? Mine is showing me the same as yours at the moment. I have him shaded.

It doesn't look unhappy to me. I have a lot in my tank and that looks pretty good to me.

Tank also looks new? They like nutrients.

You can tell when they are doing really well. The very outer polyps will extend.

Your tank looks very new! I cant keep them in my tank, they ether turn white or float away... I tired 5 of them...My tank is 10 months old. I would highly recommend selling to a friend or taking back to store. Then 6 months to a year try again.

Happy Reefing!
